Parish Custom Beef
our beef, your way
The Parish family has been raising grass-fed Angus beef for over fifty years. In that time, we have grown to understand that beef preferences vary greatly among families. Parish Custom Beef offers delicious grass-fed Angus beef, without any added hormones and never treated with antibiotics, that is custom grass- or grain-finished, processed, and packaged according to each customer’s unique specifications.
How it works—
We:
Raise the beef, “finish” it according to your custom specifications, and deliver it to the processor. We have processing dates reserved at selected, trusted butchers.
You:
Choose whether you want a half or whole beef, and how you want your beef “finished” -
Grass Finished (aka 100% grass fed beef): The beef’s diet consists solely of pasture grass, forage and/or hay. Grass-finished beef is leaner and has a flavor some describe as “more intense” or “more mineral.”
Grain Finished: The beef is pasture-raised and grass fed. Sixty days before processing, the beef is fed a diet of all-natural grain, containing no hormones, no antibiotics, and no animal by-products. Grain-finished beef has more marbling and a “sweeter” flavor than grass-finished beef. Grain finishing for more than sixty days for a whole beef is available at an additional cost.
And Then - Complete a form (aka “cut sheet”), instructing the processor how to cut and package your beef. Don’t worry if this is unfamiliar to you; we will complete the form together! Choosing the cuts of meat and package sizes that fit your family is one of the many advantages of custom beef.
Lastly - When your beef is ready, pick it up directly from the processor. It will be conveniently boxed for easy transporting in most any vehicle. Ice chests are not needed!
